Windmills. Tulips. Wooden clogs with pointed tips. Folk costume.... These are the symbols of Netherlands (or Holland) - an Europe country that I yet set foot on, though I've been to this part of the world for almost 1o times. The beautiful images of the country was the backdrop of the Hongkong drama (僵). Of course, I'm not there to seek exciting encounters withe the vampires, but the beautiful landscape that also comes with the architecture (both old and new).

Accommodation: The Student Hotel

Found the hotel in the website.

On the whole, I think it was a real good choice, not just the conveniently located between two train stations, all three metro lines led to Amsterdam Centraal, the main interchange, within 10 minutes. The place is also comfortable, clean and well-equipped.

What you see in the website is what you get. A very vibrant lobby where you can find many youngsters gathered for work and social activities. It's a hippy and happening place, in particular at night where I could hear, from my top floor room (12th) the noise coming from the parties at the ground floor. Probably it's graduation time. In addition, there were also talks organised for graduates that take place at the lobby.

This is the restaurant that offered breakfast at around 12 euros.
Well, I did not have breakfast here as I foresaw having breakfast at unearthy hours, and I was unlikely to spend time eating breakfast instead of roaming out there.

I booked a single room (of course!). It is considered spacious, compared to what we find in Japan as well as Paris. I could lay the luggage open and still have quite a bit of space to move around!

The room was equipped with a smart TV that can be connected to Youtube. Well, I worked the TV hard as it was tuned to BBC (channel 37) for almost every minute, as long as I was in the room - be it awoke or asleep.

The desk is big enough for me to unload all the stuff, like setting up my work station. In addition, there's an overhead rack and a ledge. Lots of space to put everyday stuff. The wardrobe cupboard was big, too - that I could store my luggage neatly inside, after unloading all the stuff from it.

On the desk sat a water boiler and a coffee maker, too! Well facilitated, isn't it?

Being at the top floor, I have great view of the city too!
