Windmills. Tulips. Wooden clogs with pointed tips. Folk costume.... These are the symbols of Netherlands (or Holland) - an Europe country that I yet set foot on, though I've been to this part of the world for almost 1o times. The beautiful images of the country was the backdrop of the Hongkong drama (僵). Of course, I'm not there to seek exciting encounters withe the vampires, but the beautiful landscape that also comes with the architecture (both old and new).

Day 7 (Mon 20170612) Museum Ons Lieve Heer op Solder

This was a rather interesting concept - House Church.
That is, church being set up within a residential home. This happened when the country allowed its people to practice their own religion but not openly.

I nearly missed this particular place, as the exterior of the building looked so modern, and one would not have suspected anything historical sits behind the facade.

In fact, the actual location is in the building right behind the entrance - well hidden?

There were lots of climbs within this building through the narrow staircases. That reminded me of the Ninja Temple in Japan.

Interesting box bed which is shorter than the usual, and sleeping was done in a half-upright position. I also noticed that the pillows were extra big (almost twice the size of what we have nowadays).

Ah! I can recognise this! A heater! A bukhari!

This is the highlight of the entire building - the 3-level high altar. Impressive!
Metal beams were added to hold the two "hanging" sides.

Another essential component in the church - the organ.
Smaller, compared to other churches, but still elaborate.
